Borough at The Podium

Borough is a restaurant that brings out American comfort food in a laid-back-artsy ambience at The Podium. Since I was getting something somewhere in Ortigas, I decided to drop by Borough for dinner. Sis and Ykaie were there too, of course.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Soup {P260/$5.90}

The grilled cheese sandwich has the right amount of crispness and softness and of course, the soup was creamy. I found it more delicious when I began dipping the sandwich into the soup before eating it. Later on, sis followed and dipped hers into the soup as well.

Cheese-Injected Portobello Pita Pocket {P270/$6.20}

What a great idea this is for vegetarians! No meat but absolutely delicious. It is served with crispy chips on the side too! Ykaie, known chips-lover, loved the chips.

It was very surprising to know that there’s a restaurant operating inside a mall which is open 24/7. There’s a small entrance at the side of The Podium that goes in the restaurant.

Something funny happened on our way to the restaurant. I didn’t notice that we passed by Cinnabon. Ykaie loves their Pecanbon so much. She said “mommy, buy me yock &yoll, yung may nuts {the one with nuts}” It took me a couple of minutes before I got what she was saying.  She couldn’t pronounce the letter “R” . She was asking me to buy her a “rock & roll with nuts” but what she really meant was “cinnamon roll with nuts”. I laughed when I realized it.

So we had a cinnamon roll to go and that’s what ykaie ate at Borough ….plus the chips.

Chocolate Chicken Wings {P280/$6.40}

Sis thought this was chocolate-dipped chicken wings. I think it would be really weird if it was. Well, it was chicken wings with cocoa powder, cinnamon and chili. The flavor really went well together. I liked it.
