Thoughts on Wedding Receptions and Wedding Menus

Do you ever count the number of weddings you’ve attended? Me, I’ve lost count. I’ve attended a lot of weddings in my life. Some of them I remember, some I don’t.

Although the most important part of the wedding is the ceremony and the love between the bride and the groom, we cannot deny the fact that the reception also plays a major role during the event. Because that’s where all the guests go after the ceremony, that’s where they mingle and enjoy themselves. That is why you must take in to consideration things like how big the place is, if it well lighted or if the wedding is taking place in the summer, if it’s air-conditioned.

And to make a really lasting impression on your guests, the food must be delicious. Whether it’s a sit down dinner or a buffet, the presentation of the food starts with the wedding menus. The wedding menu has the privilege of tempting the guests eyes and prepare them for the feasts awaiting them.

Nowadays, people get creative with wedding food ideas. This is one way to make the wedding fun and entertaining. Some opt for a themed wedding like Tropical, Under the Sea and just like my SIL’s, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Some choose to go cultural like Filipino-themed weddings, Italian and American. Whatever the choice is, the invitation, the menu and color motif must match everything so it’s cool to the eyes.

Most of the weddings that I have attended go traditional and  serve food that is guaranteed to be liked by the guests. They make sure they have appetizer, chicken, pork and beef dishes, pasta, rice, vegetables and lots of desserts!
