Keeping the Disabled Happy and Safe

My closest experience to being disabled was after I gave birth to my darling daughter Ykaie. I gave birth via C-section. Although my recovery was faster than normal, it was still hard for me to move from one place to another after the operation. There was a time when I thought I needed a wheelchair. But it was just for a short period of time because after a month I was back and running my normal pace of life. I can imagine how hard it must be for a caregiver.
Caregivers maybe friends, relatives or people who work to take care of people with disabilities or elderly. I think one of the reasons why its very hard to be a caregiver is because it’s hard to move people with disabilities. They are not able to move by themselves, you have to do it for them inĀ  a manner where both of you are safe. This is where an NMEDA qualified dealer can assist.

NMEDA or National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association is a non-profit trade association. It is the only association that promotes safe driving and equipment for disabled people. They educate consumers on buying products from a NMEDA qualified dealer. Since they are a non-profit organization, they don’t sell anything. The NMEDA dealers are the ones who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people. Safety is guaranteed because they are required to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Handicap vans and Vehicle modifications for the disabled are a great help to both the disabled and caregivers alike. They may also boost the disabled people’s morale because it gives them back their independenceĀ  and ensures their safety and convenience at the same time.
