Yup. That’s right. This is Cassava also known as Kamoteng Kahoy. We have a little trivia today.Cassava is a root crop known for its starchy property and is one of the largest source of carbohydrates for food in the world.
There are lots that you can do with Cassava. Some people boil it and eat it as it is like one does with sweet potato. Some add it to meat dishes,soups and stews. Some cook it for dessert as cassava cake or cassava pudding. Cassava is also made into Tapioca.
Tapioca is a colorless, odorless starch.My favorite use for this is Tapioca Pearls(Sago), little balls with gummi-like properties that is added into drinks or snacks.
Although this is not my favorite, I do crave it from time to time.
I made some Sweetened Cassava yesterday.Recipe is at blowing peachkisses.

What I buy here is Yucca in lieu of cassava. Not sure if they are of the same species (seems not if I google) but they sure taste the same! I love them for making pichi-pichi and bibingka and suman!
