Sis just got home from Bohol yesterday and aside from this neon green shirt with a big tarsier staring at me, she also brought me some goodies from Bohol Bee Farm.
Well, you gotta leave it to my sis. She knows how passionate I am about food.
BOHOL is a province in the Central Visayas Region. It is a popular tourist destination because of its wonderful beaches and resorts. But it’s most popular tourist attraction are The Chocolate Hills. It is a rolling terrain of haycock hills– something that looks like giant mole hills and symmetrical too!
During dry season, these grass-covered hills dry up and turns the yummy color of chocolate brown, hence, the name “chocolate hills”.
As the chocolate-lover who always forgets that she’s on a diet, the first thing I tried is the HILLCOLATE, a chocolate hill-shaped honey truffles. I was a bit disappointed, because although it has a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture and a distinct honey taste, you can’t help but notice the local chocolate that was used in making it. Of course, what’s to expect? It is a local product.
I was just thinking, when I attended the Carnation Blogger’s Night, they served chocolate truffles there that were so delicious! I bet those used local products too. Hillcolate’s taste can be improved and I bet if they do and they kept that distinct honey taste then they’ll sell more.
The Pesto Spread is a smooth, creamy spread but I bet I’m the only one in the family who will like it. They’re not as adventurous as I am.
The Honey Spread tastes like creamy butter with honey. I already love butter♥, you don’t need to twist my arm for me to like it. Now, this is something new to love: BUTTER + HONEY.
Will be Winnie the Pooh for a few days…
I hope we can go to Bohol next year.

Hubby had a chance to visit Bohol this year and one of the things that he got me was that pesto spread…i love pesto, but…somehow their pesto tasted different. it’s still sitting inside the refrigerator till now. lol. maybe if he got us that honey spread things would have been different. 😀

I hope I can visit the bee farnm the next time i visit Bohol. We passed by the place during the holy week. since we fetched a guest from another we have to miss the chance. there is a product outlet though at Island City Mall.
