Salted Egg and Tomato (Itlog na Maalat at Kamatis)

This traditional Filipino salad of salted red egg and tomato  is usually paired with tuyo {dried& salted fish}, tinapa, tocino or grilled fish and grilled pork belly. But it can also be eaten as it is…. as a viand paired with a plate of steaming hot rice.

I could eat this everyday, if only my kidneys wouldn’t scold me because I’m eating too much salt.

Salted Egg and Tomato/ Itlog na Maalat at Kamatis

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salted eggs,chopped
  • 2 tomatoes,diced
  • 1 tsp fish sauce

Instructions

  1. Just combine everything in a bowl and mix well
