Crispy Tofu Squares
- 3 small tofu blocks
- 1/2 cup flour (or more) seasoned with salt and pepper.
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup japanese bread crumbs
- salt and pepper
- cooking oil
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1–2 tbsp liver spread
- 2 tsp liquid seasoning
- calamansi juice
- chopped spring onion for garnish
- Slice tofu in bite size pieces.
- Prepare a dredging station and drede each tofu in flour, egg, and japanese bread crumbs.
- Fry in oil until golden brown.
- Make the sauce: In a bowl, combine mayo, liver spread, liquid seasoning, and calamansi juice. Mix well.
- Drizzle on top of the tofu squares and top with chopped spring onion before serving
