Anything Pesto Pasta is Ykaie’s favorite ever since she tried it. And now it’s also one of Twinkle’s fave. Kaya naman they always request for me to make it when they get a craving. Thanks to our friends from Doña Elena for sending over the ingredients to make it. We really love Doña Elena products because it’s high quality and it really inspires me to make healthy dishes for my family.

To cook this simple dish, start by boiling your fusilli pasta until it’s al dente, then drain it and set it aside (don’t forget to save a bit of that starchy water!). In the same pot, heat olive oil and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add your 2 cans of drained tuna chunks and cook for two minutes. Next, add a generous scoop of pesto, ground black pepper and pasta water. Then mix in your cooked pasta and mix well. Transfer to a plate, sprinkle on some Parmesan, and garnish with fresh basil if you’re feeling fancy. Voila! You’ve got a tasty meal ready in no time—perfect for busy weeknights or impressing friends without breaking a sweat!

Tuna Pesto Pasta

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g Fusilli pasta cooked according to package direction
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped finely
  • 2 cans tuna chunks
  • 2/3 cup green pesto sauce
  • 1/2 cup pasta water
  • ground black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • grated parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add the tuna chunks. mix well and cook for two minutes.
  3. Add the green pesto sauce and pasta water. Season with ground black pepper.
  4. Bring to a simmer and add the cooked fusilli pasta.
  5. Mix well. make sure the pasta is well-coated with the sauce.
  6. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle with parmesan cheese on top before serving.
  7. Enjoy!
