Lunch at Old Town White Coffee

So, let’s talk about my recent lunch adventure at Old Town White Coffee. They’re known for really good coffee but if you’re a fan of Malaysian food then this place is definitely worth checking out!

Last Sunday was errand day, and before diving into our first errand of the day, we decided to have lunch first. You know how Daddydoodledoo and I both love Laksa and we’re always having it at Hawker Chan. This time, we decided to try it here.

His order was Assam laksa but it wasn’t available, so we both ordered the Curry Laksa, instead. It was kinda waiting for a bit of a time in the counter before it was served so most of the soup were absorbed by the noodles and it was super thick. The taste was a bit too spicy for me but I liked that it has lots of tofu puffs and long bean. It was still warm when it was served and the noodles was still chewy.

The Fried Spring Rolls which was supposed to be an appetizer was served after the Laksa. It was piping hot, crispy on the outside and packed with a veggie filling. Dipping sauce was tomato ketchup.

My sister who calls herself Anney ordered the Fried Wanton. These were truly little pockets of joy as they were crispy and delightful, with a savory filling that kept us coming back for more. It doesn’t have any dipping auce but it’s tasty enough as it is. They’re perfect for snacking while chatting away with friends, and let’s be real—who doesn’t love a good wanton?

Twinkle had the Fried Chicken and Chips – natakam yata sa wings to? This dish was everything you’d want from comfort food. The chicken was golden and crispy, with juicy meat that just fell off the bone. The chips was served hot but it was oily, like it was fried in low heat. She was given a complimentary Iced Chocolate because this was served last and after about 30 minutes.

I don’t know if they lack manpower or what but we didn’t like the service we got. We’ll probably give this a second chance pero for coffee na lang.

After lunch, syempe we had dessert. Twinkle had the Halloween Treat at Rita’s Ice and we had BLK Frozen Yogurt.

Old Town White Coffee is located at 3/F SM Grand Central, Caloocan City
