Last saturday we celebrated Papa Sony’s Birthday. He loves Chinese food so we had lunch at Wangfu Chinese Cafe. The restaurant’s warm and inviting ambiance set the perfect mood for our celebration.
We started our feast with a classic appetizer combo of Pork Siomai (₱158) and Hakaw (₱198). These bite-sized dumplings, filled with savory meat and shrimp, were the perfect prelude to the main courses.
To warm our souls on a rainy afternoon, we ordered a comforting Seafood Green Soup (₱328). It was a flavorful soup brimming with fresh seafood, making it a truly satisfying dish. We also had this French Bean Sti-Fry (₱288) that was so flavorful and well-seasoned. The beans were perfectly cooked as it was still crunchy.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the Sweet and Sour Pork with Lychee (₱388). The crispy pork was coated in a tangy sweet sauce, creating a delightful contrast of textures and flavors. To add a spicy kick, we also ordered General Tso’s Chicken (₱428), a crowd-pleaser with its crispy batter and flavorful sauce.

And for those who prefer something lighter, the Fish Fillet with Shiitake Mushroom (₱398) was a delightful option, with tender fish and earthy mushroom flavors.
We paired this with a classic Yang Chow Fried Rice (₱398), a timeless favorite that never disappoints. To top it all off, we indulged in Lucky Birthday Noodles (₱398) to symbolize longevity and good fortune for Papa Sony.
Twinkle had her fave Milo Dinosaur too!
