I’m sure you know that I have another blog aside from this one (www.mommypeach.com). And that’s where I blog about all things non-food related like our travels and mommy life and such. You see, I’m thinking about letting go of it and just maintain this one site for everything. I’m still thinking about it and I’m sure I will be until the end of 2024. For now, I’ve decided that I’ll be blogging all things here at The Peach Kitchen….starting with our trip to Manila Ocean Park last December.
Twinkle has been wanting to go here for a few months now and we finally did nga that one weekend in December 2023. Our family packed our water bottles and our sense of adventure and got ready to explore the wonders of the deep (and some surprising landlubber attractions too!).
The ticket rate is 680 per person and it already includes admission to Oceanarium, Trails to Antarctica – Penguin Exhibit, Trails to Antarctica – Christmas Village, World of Creepy Crawlies, Super Toy Collection, Jellies Dancing Sea Fairies, Sea Lion Show, and All Star Bird Show
Giddiness in the Oceanarium
Our journey began at the centerpiece, the magnificent Oceanarium. We walked through a cool, dimly lit tunnel, mesmerized by the kaleidoscope of fish flitting around us. From the vibrantly colored clownfish to the sleek, graceful stingrays, it felt like we were stepping into a living coral reef documentary. My little ones were particularly fascinated by the enormous sharks gliding overhead, their wide eyes sparkling with a mix of awe and trepidation.
Jellies Dancing Sea Fairies
The Jellies Dancing Sea Fairies showcases various species of jellyfish. These fascinating creatures are often referred to as “sea fairies” because of their graceful movements and translucent bodies. The exhibit features different species of jellyfish, along with multimedia effects and music to create a mesmerizing experience for visitors.
Sea Lion Shenanigans and Waddling Penguins
Next on the agenda were the live shows. The sea lion show had us all roaring with laughter. These playful creatures performed incredible tricks, balancing balls on their noses and even giving high fives to the audience.
Unexpected Delights: Birds of Prey and the Snow Village
While the ocean is definitely the main attraction at Manila Ocean Park, we were pleasantly surprised by the other themed areas. The Birds of Prey Kingdom transported us to a world of majestic eagles and falcons. We learned about these powerful birds’ role in the ecosystem and even got to see them up close.
Memories Made, and a Renewed Appreciation for Our Oceans
As the day wound down, we were all exhausted but exhilarated. We’d seen incredible creatures, learned a lot about the ocean, and most importantly, had a blast together as a family. Manila Ocean Park is more than just an amusement park; it’s a place that fosters a love and appreciation for the underwater world. We left feeling inspired to do our part in protecting our precious oceans for generations to come.
Tips for Your Manila Ocean Park Adventure:
- Plan your visit: Check the park’s website for show schedules and plan your day accordingly to avoid missing anything.
- Go early: Weekdays and mornings tend to be less crowded, allowing you to explore at your own pace.
- Pack light: There’s a lot of walking involved, so ditch the bulky stroller and opt for comfortable shoes.
- Hydrate: The Philippine heat is no joke! Bring plenty of water.
Manila Ocean Park is a fantastic destination for families looking for a fun and educational outing. So grab your swimsuits (figuratively, of course!), and get ready to dive into an unforgettable ocean adventure!
