Creamy Beef with Mushrooms
- 600g sirloin, sliced thinly then cut into strips
- 1 tbsp liquid seasoning
- ground pepper
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1.5 cups mushroom
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp liquid seasoning
- patis, if needed
- 250ml all purpose cream
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 3 tbsp water for slurry (optional)
- In a bowl, combine beef, ground black pepper, and 1 tbsp liquid seasoning. Marinate for 1 hour.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the beef until brown. Remove from pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, melt the butter. Add the garlic and onion and saute until onion becomes translucent.
- Add the mushroom, saute for 30 seconds.
- Add the beef and water. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Season with liquid seasoning. Taste and adjust seasoning. Add patis if needed.
- Add all purpose cream and mix well.
- If you want to thicken the sauce, add cornstarch slurry. Mix and bring to a boil.
- Enjoy on top of steamed rice.
