Pub Express at SM The Block

It was a pork cheat day for me last week as we give the newly opened Pub Express at SM The Block a try for lunch. I’ve seen them at the SM Megamall Food Court and been hearing a lot about how delicious their ribs are. I think it was time we give it  a try.

The restaurant’s specialty are ribs and chicken wings… so that’s what we tried that day.

We had the Baby Back Ribs (₱169) which came with garlic rice and atchara. The meat is flavorful and really fall-off-the-bone tender and it boasts of smoky barbecue sauce.

We also had the Creamy Kawali (₱140) which is their version of crispy lechon kawali — all chopped up, smothered with a creamy sauce, and sprinkled with fried garlic.

Of course, we had to try the wings. Ykaie wanted to try the Cheezy Bacon (₱169/ half dozen| ₱299/ 1 dozen), crispy fried battered wings coated with cheese sauce and sprinkled with crumbled bacon on top.

I opted for their unique flavor: Chili Bagoong. I was actually expecting crispy fried wings coated in thick bagoong sauce but it came with the sauce on the side. The sauce was thin too — bagoong flavored and a bit spicy. I loved it! I think this might go well with the Kare-Kare wings. What do you think?

They have other menu items too, such as sausages, nachos, and fries plus an all day breakfast menu for ₱100.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for flavorful Baby Back Ribs and Crispy Wings that won’t put a dent in your pocket,  then try Pub Express. You can get both at ₱169 – super affordable.
