For a mom like me, my kitchen is one of the most precious places in our home, and I know that many mothers can relate to what am I saying. We prepare and cook foods in our kitchen so we can satisfy our family and guests’ appetite. However, because of how busy we are, we tend to neglect its cleanliness. So, what I do is I keep reminding myself to maintain the kitchen clean especially after I bake. One of my not so favorite scenes in the kitchen, is unclean small kitchen appliances such as my pressure cooker and oven toaster. Good thing I found some excellent solutions which I am going to share with you!
1. The Golden Rule In The Kitchen: Clean As You Go
I must admit, it is not that easy to clean your mess while you are still cooking. But believe it or not, you will save a lot of time when you do this. You can try it for a week, and you will see how beneficial this technique for you. When I peel some vegetables like carrots, I make sure to put the trash in a garbage can and wash the peeler. I don’t need to wait until I am done with the whole thing.
2. Use A Portable Garbage Can
If you have an empty medium-sized sandwich spread container, you can use it as a mobile garbage can. It is convenient, so your kitchen won’t turn into a messy area. You can peel your carrots, and the trash will go directly to the portable garbage can.
3. Pick Up What Is Fallen
I find dropped objects annoying. Imagine, you are cutting onions then a piece has fallen, and you need to pick it up. No problem if it has fallen under small kitchen appliances, but what if it has fallen under your cupboard, then you need to lift it up or use something lengthy to get it. Whatever it takes, just do it!
4. Put Back What Is Not Necessary
Once you don’t need the ingredient anymore, make sure to put it back right away where it was. It will save you a lot especially if you are baking and you need a lot of ingredients and small kitchen appliances such as a stand mixer. By doing this, you will have more space in your kitchen.
5. Avoid Preparing And Cooking In A Rush
If you have limited time, you have a high tendency of panicking so avoid cooking in a fast manner. I know there are situations that you cannot avoid it such as you have surprise visitors. What you need to do it to stay calm and take one step at a time. I know how tempting to multi-task especially in the kitchen but trust me, you will just stay panicking! The calmer you are, the lesser the mess.

Great suggestions for making cooking easier! Wish I was better at each of these. I try, but…. 🙂
I like your ideas, you just have to be diligent in the kitchen and put things back where you got them from. I’d rather clean as I go than wait until the end.
