Towards the end of each year, there’s nothing I look forward to more than our Christmas family reunion. That’s because it’s the one day of the year when all the members of our family — sometimes even those who live abroad — come home to celebrate Christmas. It’s that one day of the year when there are more than 10 families under one roof and spend crazy loving time together.
Here are some of the things — silly and nice– that I look forward to during Christmas family reunions that are just too cute not to share:
1. Celebrate Christmas in Every Color Imaginable
Yep. A few months before December, we plan on what our color theme would be for the upcoming Christmas family reunion and we send out texts to everyone letting the know what our color motif will be.
We had Green in 2010, Red for 2011, Blue for 2012, Pink for 2013, and Yellow for 2014.
As you can see, we only have one venue for our Christmas family reunion and that’s at my Aunt’s house. She has the biggest house in the family and can definitely accommodate everyone.
See if you can find me and Ykaie in all our photos.
2. Wacky Shots with Everyone
It’s nice to just have fun and do crazy poses with nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles…..
Even my Tatay is very game to do wacky poses with me and my sister!
3. The Kid’s Photo on the Stairs
Yes, we gather all our nieces and nephews.. .basically the fourth generation kids in the family and we place them on the stairs yearly for a photo opp. This was done to us by our aunts and uncles and has somehow become a family tradition. By looking at the kid’s yearly photo on the stairs, you can track how much they’ve grown through the years.
4. Lechon Moments
My pose with the Lechon arm is charming… Aminin!
Yes, there’s always agawan sa crunchy balat ng lechon every year!
5. Being Human Christmas Trees with Christmas Lights
I found these Chistmas necklaces that light up from Divisoria and they are just begging to be worn on Christmas Eve. Yes, tumeterno kami sa Christmas lights sa labas ng bahay.
6. Christmas Eve Celebrations
I love Christmas Eve with the family. Somehow, it makes it more meaningful and full of love.
7. Lady’s Choice Macaroni Salad
Of course! Christmas won’t be complete without everyone’s favorite rich and creamy Lady’s Choice Macaroni Salad on the Christmas table. This year, I will make sure to prepare more because everyone’s been asking for a little extra to take home.
What are you looking forward to your Christmas family reunions this year?

Anong theme nyo this year? How about black? hahaha
Green daw ulit kami this year.
Nagiging tradisyon na rin sa family namin ang magsuot ng color-coordinated na shirts pag Pasko. Iba talaga ang Paskong Pinoy! The best! 🙂
P.S. Panalo yung umiilaw na Christmas necklaces! 🙂
O diba? Binili sa Divisoria…
I envy you for having such a big and happy family. I always wished we can do the same but the distance doesn’t permit us and our parents are not with us anymore. But still, I am trying to make a memorable Christmas and New Year with my own family now. Happy New Year Sis and Family.
Happy New Year to you too!
