Vikings finally opened up its sixth branch at SM Jazz Mall last December 19, 2014 but it was just this January when I was able to drop by.
You know how much of a Vikings fan we are but we have a go-to branch which is SM The Block because it’s nearest to our home. I’ve been there when we celebrated my FIL’s Birthday, then my Aunt Becky treated us for lunch, that’s also where we had dinner on Ykaie’s 7th birthday. The other branch I’ve been to was Vikings SM Megamall.
Vikings didn’t fail to surprise and amaze me with each branch that they open because each one provides a different experience. With Vikings SM Jazz Mall, I felt instantly transported to Europe.
I laughed when Ykaie instantly muttered “mommy, ang soshal naman dito.” Indeed, this branch features an elegant, chic and modern interior that will wow you the moment you step in. The chandelier, ceilings and the paintings on the wall are colorful, lively, and vibrant. The function rooms are named after cities in Italy. Look at Ykaie posing in Milan.
You’ll find marble tables and stylish chairs all ready for you and your family.
peanutbutter♥ was supposed to join us for lunch but wasn’t able to make it because of work. Ykaie and I seated ourselves to table 506.
Just like the other Vikings branches, there are over 200 varieties of food to satisfy every adventurous palate that would visit this place.
The Appetizers Station features different kinds of breads, cheeses, cold cuts, nuts, and dried fruits. You’ll also find a vast array of finger food including this Cranberry and Nuts Pesto Boursin.
There’s a Nacho Chips Station too, complete with cheese sauce, chili, jalapeno, sour cream, and salsa.
In the Salad Station, you can make your own salad with the different greens, vegetables, and dressings but there are ready-made ones too like the Greek Salad, Thai Pomelo Salad, Potato and Egg Salad, and Waldorf Salad.
Drinks Station
You’ll find different kinds of sushi and sashimi at Japanese Station. Plus other irresistible food like Tempura, Yakitori, and Katsudon.
The Carving Station boasts of U.S. Beef Entrecote, New Zealand Garlic and Rosemary Stuffed Leg of Lamb, Bourbon Chicken, and Spicy Belly-chon.
They also have other meats and fish that are for grilling.
The Chinese Station features my favorite Pork Asado and Soy Chicken.
Plus this yummy Sweet and Sour Pork.
Ykaie is always in love with with the Dessert Station with Chocolate and White Chocolate fountain.
Aside from the chocolate fountains and fresh fruits, you’ll also find a variety of Filipino rice cakes (kakanins) like Kuchinta, sapin-sapin, and cassava cake.
They also have a delicious selection of cakes which includes Brazo de Mercedez, Starwberry Shortcake, and Chocolate Bavarois.
There are a lot more varieties of food but I only took those that I was able to try that day. With all that Vikings has to offer, I don’t think you can ever eat everything in a single visit.
I enjoyed my visit at Vikings SM Jazz. It felt like I was eating at a whole new restaurant… only I felt that familiar friendly, efficient service and tasted different varieties of superbly cooked food that only Vikings could offer.
