Max’s Restaurant is gonna be the official restaurant of Team Gilas Pilipinas as they gear up to compete for the FIBA World Cup in Spain this August.
With the hashtag #PusoToTheMax, Max’s is looking into inspiring Filipinos from all over the world to express their love and support to the Philippines team that has made it to the FIBA World Cup after 35 years.
Two weeks ago, I received an invite from Max’s Restaurant which I thought was the launching of a new product. We had an early dinner at Max’s in Glorietta 3 and then boarded a bus. It turned out to be a small blogger field trip going to the Merlaco Gym because we ‘re gonna watch Team Gilas Pilipinas practice.

The members of the Gilas Pilipinas 2014 Team are: Paul Lee, Jimmy Alapag, LA Tenorio, Jeffrei Chan, Jayson Castro, Gary David, Ranidel de Ocampo, Gabe Norwood, Marcus Douthit, Larry Fonacier, Junmar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar, Marc Pingris, Beau Belga, Jared Dillinger, and Andray Blatche. Their Head Coach is Vincent “Chot” Reyes and one of the assistant coaches is Norman Black, the only person I know in the team..LOL!
To tell you honestly, I don’t know anything about basketball, any basketball team or players. But I did enjoy watching how the team practice their moves and their strategies. It was awesome!
I am not a basketball fan but I join Max’s Restaurant in supporting Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup in Spain in August 2014!
