I don’t think Vikings Megamall still needs an introduction.
Vikings Luxury Buffet has been the talk of the town ever since it opened its first branch at SM MOA. It has redefined the whole buffet experience, boasting of the largest buffet areas and splendid ambience for all to enjoy.
Vikings SM The Block is our family’s go-to Vikings branch because it’s the nearest branch to where we live. I’ve already been to that branch twice — the first one is to celebrate my FIL’s Birthday and the other was when my Tita Becky treated us for lunch.
My family is always excited when we’re talking about eating at Vikings. Even my six year old foodie, Ykaie, gets kilig when talking about going to Vikings. She’s not the least bit overwhelmed nor intimidated by Vikings extensive selection of sumptuous dishes.
This is the second branch of Vikings that I’ve been to and I’ve been awed by how elegantly designed it is. Not the kind of elegance that will intimidate you but one that will ensure your comfortability.
The cushioned seats are not too soft and not too hard. I came here with my sister and her friends, Ykaie, and Cyra and we happily seated ourselves near the glass windows. Notice that Sis and Ykaie are not in the picture? Well, they were still busy filling their plates!
There are over 200 varieties of food to satisfy every adventurous palate that comes in. You can try but I don’t think you can conquer them all in a single visit.
This is the Appetizers/ Tapas station. In here you’ll find a vast array of tasty starters such as spring rolls, deviled eggs, dynamite, crostinis, shrimp cocktails, and nachos with different toppings. You’ll also find different kinds of cheeses, cold cuts, and the salad station.
Beside it is the Spanish Tapas Station where my favorite Salpicao and Gambas are…
Carving Station
This is a carnivore’s favorite station. In here, you can get a slice of Deep Fried Cajun Turkey, Bourbon Glazed Ham, and all the Vikings Boneless Lechon your heart desires.
If not satisfied, you can go back and try Angus Chuck Eye Roll, Texas Beef Brisket, Anchovy and Rosemary Baked Leg of Lamb, and Prime Rib Eye.
There were a vast array of breads: Black Bread, Olive Baguette, Walnut bread, and Raisin Bread among others. Sad to say, I wasn’t able to try any of them because I know that a loaf of bread will be heavy enough in my tummy and I just wouldn’t be bale to try those that I wanted to.
Vikings Megamall makes their own pasta. There’s a Fresh Pasta Station where in yo can choose your pasta, sauce and mix-ins and the chef will cook it for you while you wait. I didn’t give it a try, though.
Instead, I went for the Truffle and Cheese Penne that Ms. Raquel Bartolome,Vikings Marketing Manager, recommended. I am a sucker for anything with truffle and this pasta dish made my day.
Pizzas for the pizza lovers out there..
Japanese Cuisine Station
This station is a treasure trove of the freshest sashimi and different kinds of sushi.
Ebi Tempura and Pork Tonkatsu are our favorite from this station. I believe Ykaie was able to eat ten Ebi Tempuras that night.
The chefs and the staff are very friendly at Vikings . They are not camera shy too!!
Fresh Meat and Seafood
The Grilling Station offers fresh meat and seafood which you can request to be grilled to your liking.
I only got Fresh Oysters from this Station.
Chef’s Choices Section
There’s this interesting section showcasing different dishes made by the hand-picked chef of Viking’s. These are my favorites from that section..
Beef Steak in Madagascar Sauce
Pork Ribs BBQ Louisiana
Seared St. Peter’s Fish in Lemon, Capers, and Peppercorn Sauce
Crispy Pata in Kare-Kare Sauce
Roasted Kambing in Spicy Caldereta
Lechon Sisig
Tahong at Hipon sa Taba ng Talangka
Lamb Kourma
Moroccan Spiced Roast Chicken with Tahini Taratore Sauce
Drinks Station
I think this is the Beverage Station with the most number of drinks I’ve seen!
Iced Tea, Lemonade, Sodas, Milo, Sago Gulaman, Coffee, Hot Tea, and Beer– name it and I think they’ve got it. Nobody is getting thirsty at Vikings, that’s for sure.
Dessert Station
I was already full by the time I got the Dessert Station. The cakes looks like edible pieces art and taste as awesome as they look.
I favored the little pastries more than the cakes though and paired it with a cup of coffee
Ykaie and Cyra were drawn at the Chocolate and White Chocolate fountain like most kids…
and when they got tired of it, they went and got themselves each a bowl of ice cream.
This chiller contained, fruit salads, creme brulee, cheesecakes, mousse, mango sago, and buko pandan. I went back here three times!
I’d like to thank Ms. Raquel Bartolome, Vikings Marketing Manager, for treating our tastebuds into a culinary adventure. It was such an enticing dinner.
Vikings is indeed a buffet that the whole family will enjoy. It caters to both the young and old… a place even a picky eater will love!

The roasting station looks better here than the one we had in Vikings Marikina. Which day of the week did you guys eat there? 🙂
We ate on a tuesday..
A food like this seemed worth craving for. If I do win in lotto, i’ll be your regular customer from breakfast till dawn. Good Luck!
I’m hoping to win the lotto as well..LOL!
It looks like more varieties of food to choose from and the place’s so cool.
It is cool because of over 200 varieties of food.
We have vikings nearby at the Jazz residences. They have really great choices of food and nice ambiance.
That’s why I love them!
