There’s this life size poster of Size Matter Pork Chops that’s just too drool-worthy to ignore. I always pass by this poster going to and from the parking lot whenever we go malling at SM North EDSA. When my siter who calls herself Anney asked us to to watch Starting Over Again with her last week, I demanded she treat us to Size Matters for lunch before watching the movie.
The restaurant is located at the Cinema level of SM The Block. It’s a small, casual place imbibing rustic, homey ambience. From the name of the restaurant, I’m guessing the primary products in this place are — you guessed it right — sausage sandwiches and different kinds of burgers.
To start our meal, we ordered Chili Cheese Fries. It was served fresh from the oven. The fries were thick-cut, topped with chili con carne, melted mozzarella cheese, sour cream drizzle, and three pieces of pickled jalapeño slices.
I also ordered the 3-piece serving of Buffalo Chicken Wings. Usually, when we order buffalo wings, one piece of chicken wings is cut in half and then served as two pieces. In size matters, three pieces of chicken wings is three large pieces of chicken wings. talk about value for your money! But it was kind of a supersize experience for me because I didn’t expect it.
The wings were all coated with sauce but the skin remained crispy. The bleu cheese dip is thick and has this full bleu cheese flavor.
I couldn’t stop sipping the Lemon Iced Tea. It tasted like home made sun tea with lemon.
And these are the beauties I was talking about at the beginning of this post — the Southwestern BBQ Rubbed Pork Chops! We ordered two pieces so sis and I could share. It was served with half a corn, some dirty rice, and BBQ sauce for dipping. The chops cut were thick but it was perfectly cooked so it remained tender and juicy despite how thick it was.
What surprised me the most is that Ykaie wanted to have RIBS at this place. She told me she wanted to try Ribs because she hasn’t tried it yet. I know she won’t be able to finish it even we order just half a slab but I want to encourage her to try new things so I agreed. The Ribs was served with corn and fries instead of rice. It also came with BBQ sauce for dipping. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and the ribs was flavorful!
Our orders were actually too much for the three of us. We didn’t finish the rice and the ribs. We had it wrapped to take home.
I will have to go back at this place and give the sausage and the burgers a try.
