Yesterday was the second day of my 3-Day Juice Fast. I woke up refreshed from a good night’s sleep and was determined to drink something green to level up my game. Broccoli is one of my favorite vegetables as Pineapple is one of my favorite fruit. So I thought I should like their taste when I combine these two in a drink, then I would throw in a stalk of celery just to add more green.
My first juice of the day was a glass of the Apple, Carrot, Orange, and Ginger Juice. After that, sis asked me if I could go with her at the bank to pay for a resort reservation. I went with her and then she went with me at the wet market to buy myself a couple of heads of broccoli, a large Pineapple, and five celery stalks.
I was really hungry by the time we got home. One and a half day without food is taking a toll on me and I couldn’t resist my last cup of yogurt from the fridge. OMG! I was still hungry after the yogurt!
I hurriedly made this juice using my Breville Juice Fountain Max and chugged it down. This fruit and veggie combo is as green as it could get. It even tastes GREEN! (whatever that means) It doesn’t taste bad, really but I think I’ll be adding more pineapple next time.
This juice made me realize a few things..
- broccoli makes juice creamy and smooth — but there’s an aftertaste
- In between juicing and blending, I like my veggies to be juiced and my fruits to be blended into smoothies
- I like eating my broccoli rather than juiced
- This is not my favorite fruit/veggie combination in terms of taste
- I should stick to 2:1 ratio while I’m a beginner. two fruits to one veggie.
…..AND NO BLOGGING ABOUT FOOD!
Mid-afternoon got me drooling over the New Starbucks Food Items I posted yesterday. Editing the photo was torture since I haven’t been eating anything solid… I also couldn’t think of anything to write even when I tried! My mind was blank.
I discovered I still can’t handle a 3-Day Juice Fast and caved in! Ykaie and I had dinner at the nearest Chowking branch…
And it was the most delicious Chopsuey Rice and Kangkong with bagoong I ever had in my whole life…LOL!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not giving up on juicing. I still felt really good today. It’s just that I don’t think I could do a 3-Day Juice Fast.. not yet anyway. But I could do juice plus one meal — and that’s what I’m gonna do.
I’m actually gonna try and juice some beets tomorrow..

haa! I like the realizations and I agree, broccoli to be eaten and not juiced!
I don’t think I’ll be juicing broccoli in the near future…
I hear so much about these juice fasts, but I have yet to try one. This recipe actually sounds pretty good, I may have to give it a try!

Cheers! I love fresh pineapple juice too!
I agree about the broccoli. Don’t know if I can do it in a juice.
LOL! I think you should try it once. Who knows? you might end up liking it.
I would have never thought of that combination of food. Interested to hear what you pair with the beets.
I paired watermelon with the beets! It tasted awesome!
LOL ‘I like my veggies to be juiced and my fruits to be blended’ – I totally agree! I would like to try this 3 day juicing but not sure if I could do it either. I bet you’ll have better luck next time.
