Happy Wednesday morning! Up for some Banana Almond Smoothie?
Oh I could just hug my blender to pieces! I just think it’s the most useful gadget in my kitchen these days since I make a smoothie almost everyday. Although I still can’t bring myself to drink any green smoothie, I’m glad I get my daily dose of fruits in through it. I am also glad that Ykaie loves drinking a smoothie. She loves it more than the juice I try to make her drink.
Today, I made a smoothie that could also be a meal. It’s my first time to make an Oatmeal Smoothie and I think I pretty much like the texture and the taste. The oatmeal makes it thick but not thick enough to be a porridge. It’s still drink-able and yet it keeps you full up until 11am or lunch.
This is a light, nutritious meal which you can sip when you’re on-the-go and do not have time for a sit-down breakfast.
What’s in it? Oh all things delicious and nutritious! It has banana, almond butter, oatmeal, non-fat milk, and ground cinnamon.
What makes this perfect for me today? Well, I’m gonna be dropping by the newly opened Hanamaruken in Trinoma to try out their Happiness Ramen. In the afternoon, I’ll be attending an event to learn about the 2014 Food Trends over at Unilever Food Solutions. This will be a food-filled day and I don’t want to be stuffed later or I’ll be sleepy…
Have a great day everyone!

Yummy smoothie Peachy! Love the little bit of oatmeal in there to provide even more nutrition.
I think I’ll be having more oatmeal smoothies!
One question, did you blend the oatmeal together with it? and do you have to cook the oatmeal first ?? This is great! I love banana and oatmeal!

Yes, I did blend the oatmeal. No more need to cook it.

It does! Thanks John!
I always put bananas in smoothies – I love that natural sweetness from bananas. Almond is new to me though. I need to get a jar of almond butter!

I am also on a smoothie kick these days..
Looks and sounds amazing! I do something like this. The night before, I mix fruit, oatmeal, brown sugar (or honey), a pinch of salt, and milk into a mason jar and then let it sit overnight in the fridge. It’s a delicious ready-t0-g0 breakfast!
I will try those overnight oats soon…
