The Red Cups are back! Together with the Starbucks Christmas Food And Drinks 2013. I’ve been seeing red everywhere!
What got my tastebuds excited is the comeback of my favorite GINGERBREAD LATTE (Tall – ₱160, Grande- ₱175, Venti – ₱185).This has been my favorite drink back when I was still a barista at Starbucks and I’ve missed that lingering taste of freshly baked gingerbread combined with perfectly roasted espresso and steamed milk. It’s sprinkled with nutmeg on top tickling your sense of smell as well. I loved both the hot and cold version of this drink.
The PEPPERMINT MOCHA (Tall – ₱160, Grande- ₱175, Venti – ₱185) is also back but is topped with crushed candy cane this time. It makes me feel Christmas-y just by looking at it. I love the hot version more than its cold counterpart, though.
As for the rich, buttery TOFFEE NUT LATTE (Tall – ₱160, Grande- ₱175, Venti – ₱185), well this is something that will keep me warm and in the mood for the Christmas season.
There I hope you give these three new drinks a try. I’m sure you will love one of them, if not all. For the Christmas food items, Starbucks is offering new ones and a few returning favorites that we all loved and enjoyed.
Starbucks New Christmas Food Items
I think indulgence goes with the Christmas season and nothing could be more indulgent than CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT CAKE WITH NUTELLA (slice-₱110, whole-₱1,195). I love Nutella so this moist, dense chocolate cake covered with chocolate hazelnut buttercream icing is one of my favorites from the new Christmas food items. Now you know, why this is the first item on this list..heehee.
TRIPLE DECKER CHEESECAKE WITH SNICKERS (slice-₱130, whole-₱1,395) is second on my list. You already know how much of a cheesecake fan I am. This cheesecake is just to die for! It is loaded with chunks of Snickers candy bar in a chocolate cookie crust, topped with a chocolate fudge icing and roasted chopped peanuts.
Don’t be fooled. I know this looks like a cinnamon roll but this is CHOCOLATE SALTED CARAMEL PECAN ROLL (₱95). It is a light and flaky spiraled roll stuffed with aromatic cinnamon and creamy chocolate pastry cream and the ever popular salted caramel filling then topped with roasted pecans and drizzled with Belgian dark chocolate and white chocolate.
Let’s move on to the savory items. This ROASTED CHICKEN & BACON WRAP (₱170) made my night. Inside the chewy pita bread are bits of garlic roasted chicken, bacon bits and assorted vegetables made creamy and tasty with a special garlic sauce. Bonus points for the diced zucchini — I love ’em!
This is the HOLIDAY TURKEY CHICKEN WITH APPLE CRANBERRY ON PISTACHIO CRANBERRY BREAD (₱170). Phew! I know the name is long but the bread alone is already delicious because it’s filled with bits of dried cranberries and pistachios. The filling of moist and tender turkey and chicken breast served with delectable apple stuffing and cranberry spread just makes this irresistible.
What’s Christmas without ham? This GLAZED PORK HAM ON GERMAN BREAD (₱170) will definitely set you in the mood for Christmas. Crusty, soft bread with moist, juicy glazed ham topped with sweet and slightly tangy apricot sauce plus mozzarella cheese. This will make you feel like you are already sitting on the dinner table on Christmas night.
Starbucks Returning Favorites
The Starbucks Christmas Tradition won’t be complete without these returning favorites that we all must have. You sure won’t be missing the CHOCOLATE TOFFEE NUT LOAF (slice-₱65, whole-₱595) since it’s back. Still rich, moist, and dense and topped with crunchy toffee bits that will surely be perfect with a cup of Christmas Blend.
The GINGERBREAD COOKIE (₱65) this year has a reindeer design but is still shaped like a Gingerbread man. Look at the back and turn it upside down..you’ll see what I’m talking about.
We just can’t get enough of this big and chunky WHITE CHOCOLATE CRANBERRY COOKIE (₱60). It has a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness.
I didn’t like the PEPPERMINT BROWNIE (₱75) a few years ago but this year I’ve learn to appreciate it. It’s soooo good paired with a cup of this season’s brew.
The CHICKEN FAJITA ROLL (₱95) may be a bit spicy but but we all love it. I think we all love Mexican right? And I can’t forget that colorful wrap.
Have you tried any of these drinks or food items yet? Which one is your favorite?

I love Gingerbread.
Red cups are out! Christmas is definitely near. I’m putting off buying Starbucks coffee for now though coz of the calamities. Instead of getting myself my usual cup of joe, I’m donating some of my income to those in dire need.
That’s very nice, Olga. I’m doing the same.
I’m always excited when it’s Christmas time because my favorite Peppermint Mocha is served in Starbucks. I love it served iced with no whipped cream.
