Two sundays ago, on Ykaie’s birthday {November 19}, we were checked in at the BSA Twin Towers in Ortigas just right across SM Megamall. The condotel doesn’t really have a restaurant so we had most of our meals at the mall.
After playing at Worlds of Fun at the basement, the kids needed some rest so we went back to our room and watched a couple of The Walking Dead episodes. Dinner time crept in and we decided to go back to the mall. There were a couple of banners showing the Bar-B-King Angus Beef Belly. The photo shown in the banner was mouthwatering, sis thought we should try it out.
Bar-B-King Charcoal-Grilled Barbecues’ concept is that it is a Quick Service Restaurant or fast food focusing on charcoal-grilled barbecues like pork, liempo, beef, steaks, pork chops, sea foods and veggies. And that it is affordable.
We had to try out their best seller which is The Ultimate Angus Beef Belly {₱165}. The meal is composed of the char-grilled beef belly, unlimited rice, unlimited gravy, corn and carrots, and drink. The beef belly was tender but it could use more flavor. I wished it was marinated a lot longer.
Cyra and Cyvrine shared the Honey Chicken Bar-B {₱135}. I wasn’t able to try it, but judging by how they ate, I think they liked it.
And because I’m a soup girl, I was very eager to try out the Garlic Corn Soup {₱45}. Sad to say, it was too salty for my taste and I didn’t like ground up corn in my soup. I would have liked it more if it was whole kernels of corn.
Ykaie had her favorite pork part with the Liempo King{₱120}. She likes anything with fat so the photo of the liempo at the counter is like a sign that says buy gold here to her. Liempo = gold mine…LOL!
You could probably feel with this post that I didn’t have such a great experience at Bar-B-King but as with any places I go to, I’m willing to give this place a second try.

Very delicious looking.
Sarap naman nung baka and baboy, meron pang taba. Mmmmmmm
I’ve never heard of Bar-B-King… The marinades look like they make some tasty meats, but I definitely agree with you on the soup. Why grind up the corn? Leave the kernels whole!
The Honey Chicken Bar looks yummy to me, I could eat a lot of rice with that. The restaurant sounds new to me all I know is Goto King probably they are sister company because of the king, lol!
Hungry me! hehehehhe looking at those photos makes my tummy growl. reminds me of the Hawaiian BBQ that we recently had. they look the same.
