I think we all know Precious Moments. Who could resist those adorable characters with soulful, droopy eyes?
Last October 6 was the first time I’ve been to the Precious Moments Restaurant and Gift Shop located in Gil Puyat, Makati. The truth is, I didn’t know what I expect to see inside the place. I am very much familiar with the Precious Moments characters as I grew up with their greeting cards, stuffed animals and small figurines. I loved them because they’ve touched my heart and the hearts of my loved ones in some ways.
The first floor of the restaurant was a café called SamBrew, where in they serve both hot and cold coffee, cakes, and cookies. The second floor is where the magic begins.
As I set foot on the second floor of the restaurant, I can’t help but have a feeling of nostalgia. There was a feeling of comfort and love, like seeing an old friend. The table was set a bit on the formal side and Precious Moments figurines and doll surround the room.
As this is a food blog, Let me start with the food they serve…
Their menu is composed of Chinese, Filipino, Korean, and American dishes. We started with Seaweed and Century Egg Platter….
..and Korean Squid. This is what I loved most in all the dishes I’ve tried there. It’s crispy, spicy and sweet.
This Crab with Sotanghon has a killer presentation. With the big crab lounging over the noodles like it’s resting. I knew I had to get me one of the crab parts to complete the experience. I got the claw and it was fun getting the meat out of it.
The other dishes served were:
Baked Spare Ribs
Braised Pata Tim
Sweet and Sour Lapu-Lapu
Szechuan Style Prawns
Classic Carbonara
The meal ended with a slice of Mango Float….
…and coffee from SamBrew: Iced Blended Cookies and Cream, Iced Blended Macadamia, and Cappuccino.
This is one of the tables of the first floor
Last July 22, 2011, Precious Moments Collectors Club {PPMCC} was formally organized. It started out with around 50 members only but is now with around 700++ members. It is composed of people that does not only share their love for Precious Moments figurines but also advocates the Precious Moments values of Loving, Caring, Sharing and Touching Lives.

Aside from being a restaurant, gift shop and cafe, Precious Moments also caters to weddings, banquets and baptisms.

This is near our house but I’ve never been there. My cousin works near the restaurant also so I might visit her one day and try out the food at Precious Moments 🙂
I heard about this place and almost did a double take coz I can’t imagine what food would go well with the sweet lovable characters of Precious Moments. The place is definitely intriguing, I would love to see their huge collection of figurines. 🙂
wow there’s already a precious moments store! the restaurant looks interesting.
This resto is our current caterer for our daily meals in office started last 01 June 2013 and very disappointing. Foods are terrible, no taste, no appeal. Think side walk foods are far better than them. No wOoOOw factor, instead yUck factor. Sorry guys but you need to IMPROVE.
feels like its very contrived.
these are very popular in the 80’s to the early 00’s
but sad to say, lately (i feel) it’s not so popular anymore,
maybe only few people collect figurines recently, and started selling.
also of the high price for advertisement.
personally, i only have a few, but still very happy and they’re all still look great in my display.
this resto shop is hard to get by due to the location, but it’s all worth a visit when you’re in manila looking for precious moments or simply want something good to eat.
and please remember the history of Precious Moments that started with caring, loving, sharing and peace is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
thumbs up 🙂
