I have this love-hate relationship with hotel buffet breakfasts and resort buffet breakfasts…
I mean, more often than not, they have this wonderful spread that is waaay too much for both my eyes and my tummy to handle.
I want to put a little bit of everything on my plate just to be able to share with you how wonderful these breakfast goodies are… but the sad truth is, I can never really finish all the things that I put in my plate…
..and I hate wasting food.
So today, I’m turning in a new leaf. Whatever food you see on my plate and in my soup bowl are the food that I’ve eaten. The rest will be photographed at the buffet table….
The San Diego restaurant is one of the restaurants at the Peninsula de Punta Fuego. They have such a wonderful breakfast spread –the food doesn’t only taste delicious but some are just gorgeously presented, they’re too hard to ignore!
I started my breakfast with a glass of orange juice, a piece of toast, butter, different kinds of cheese and a couple of walnuts from the cheese plate, white cheese, tomato and olive in the shotglass and a small canape topped with sunny-side up quail egg and a slice of jalapeño.
Since it was raining, I felt that it was just right that it was followed by a bowl of steaming arroz caldo. There was chocolate oatmeal porridge beside it but the savory arroz caldo kept on calling my name.
I also tried some of the viands and the fried rice. For me, the ham with glazed pineapple stood out from everything on the plate above. I’m surprised that the fresh fruits on the table included pears!
Ykaie is getting a piece of hard-boiled egg from the Omelette Station

Ykaie was able to finish breakfast first, took the umbrella and played in the rain while waiting for us to finish ours….
Our breakfast was included in the room reservation….
