I had such a great birthday weekend! Spending two nights in luxury is exhilarating! Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa has indeed taken my vacation into a whole new level,…….. but that I will tackle at The Wandering Peach.
Good food is a priority here at The Peach Kitchen, so let me tell you all about our lunch the day that we arrived.
Pineapple Shake {P310 +VAT}
After taking a leisurely walk around the lobby and pool area and checking out the different restaurants around the hotel, we settled for Buko Bar.
Buko Bar is a lounge/bar that offers al fresco dining near the pool area. Mostly, they offer light meals like pasta, pizza and saladsĀ which is a good thing because that’s what were in the mood for the day that we arrived.
Yes, I have a two-toned arm…..don’t judge me.
Chicken Nuggets {P220+VAT}
The lounge offers kiddie meals listed in a menu/coloring book which Ykaie proceeded to color after choosing what to eat. She opted for fries instead of rice for her chicken nuggets. The meal came with a light salad which I ate because she didn’t want it.
There was also a complimentary bread and butter at the beginning of the meal. It was soft cornmeal bread and Elle&Vire butter.
Chicken Caesar Salad {P420+VAT}
Two days before this trip, I was already craving for Caesar Salad and promised myself that this is the first thing I’m gonna eat. It was served with three large pieces of garlic bread instead of the usual croutons which I find much better because I can hold it with my hand.
The dressing was thin and tasted primarily of anchovies, evidently it was freshly made.
Flavorful but not quite the taste that I was looking for…
Parma Ham and Rucola Pizza {P550+VAT}
A combination of Parma Ham and fresh Arugula leaves in mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. Something that I don’t find in a pizza everyday. It is a welcome change specially with the slighty salty and nutty flavor of the ham, but I would still go for my favorite four cheese and anchovy pizza.
We weren’t able to finish everything and we had to take a few slices of the pizza and some of the chicken nuggets and fries up in our room to go.
Everything we ate were pricey but I guess I already expected it, given the place where we stayed…
