Ykaie turned 4 last Saturday and just like what I told you, we celebrated her birthday in Puerto Galera, along White Beach with a {mini} LUAU PARTY!! We missed daddy…. he’s the only one who knows how to swim….
Yup, we brought everything from Manila– the costumes and the Hawaiian- themed food.
Her birthday cake is made up brown sugar as sand and cookies in the shape of surf board, coconut tree and ykaie in a grass skirt which my sister made by my sister who calls herself Anney .
Here’s another view of the “cake”….
We stayed in Puerto G for three days, I know there will be a lot of e-mails and writing stuff that will be waiting for me when I get home. I wished there’s some sort of report engine that will help me keep track of them. But hey, we were there to celebrate. So I swept work and worries at the back of my mind.
The food alone is enough to keep us entertained…
I made Pineapple Cream Cheese Spread which looks like a real pineapple… {recipe to follow later on my next post…}
Everything has pineapple in them…
Sis took care of the sweets and I took care of all the savory food items…
Hawaiian Fruit Skewers made with cherries, pineapple and nata de coco…
Pineapple Tart Mini- Chocolate Brownies
Bacon-Wrapped Pineapples
Soy-Ginger Porkchops topped with Pineapple Salsa {recipe here}
Aloha Burger
to quench our thirst on a hot Hawaiian afternoon were these sodas in the same outfit as the birthday celebrant….
Honestly, it’s hard to keep those food from getting deformed when you have to ride a cab for 30 minutes, a bus for 2 hours and a ferry boat for 1 ½ hours going to the beach but it was all worth it.
I’d say we took “partying at the beach” to a whole new level..

Hi! This party looked great! I loved the decorations! My daughter is turning 4 in June and she is having a luau. Can I ask where did you get the cookie cutters for the cookies on the cake? Also, where did you get the outfits for the soda cans? Your answers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Shana
Hi Shana!
We just bought the cookie cutters from ebay. The soda can outfits were just sewn by hand. We used small pieces of cloths and garter for the top and then straw and garter for the hula skirt then decorated it with plastic flowers. If you can’t sew, you can also use a glue gun in making it.
Thank for dropping by.
Oh thanks so much! I appreciate the details.
Shana
You’re welcome!
