Good as New but Cheaper

Today is my daughter’s first day of school. She’s in nursery. Her tuition fee and books equaled the cost of mine when I was in high school. I could imagine how much her college tuition would cost!

I remember how my mom used to tell me when my brother and sister was in college. It was very hard for her because they were both in college at the same time. Imagine that my father and my mother were paying for utilities, groceries, two college tuitions and everything else in between.

It was very hard to budget. So in order to save some money my brother and my sister had to buy buy cheap college textbooks to compensate for the tuition fees and other school expenses. It has the same content as new textbooks and some of the textbooks on the market are fairly new because the previous owners took care of them well.

These cheap college textbooks made it possible for my mom to give more allowance to my siblings and also divert the savings into other family expenses. I guess I’ll also do the same when ykaie goes to college and I will tell her what grandma and grandpa did.
