On our second day in Tagaytay, we had lunch at Bag of Beans since we were out. Bag of Beans is a bakeshop, café and restaurant in one with a homey, rustic atmosphere.
You can choose to dine al fresco, in a closed area or in a cabana. If you choose to dine in a cabana, though, you have to consume at least P1,000 {$23.00}.
We chose to dine al fresco to take in more of the homey ambience and the Tagaytay air. That’s me in gray right there. I think Ykaie is currently exploring the restaurant at this time. She loves the talking Mynah bird.
Steak and Mushroom Pie {P120/$2.70}
The Steak and Mushroom pie had big pieces of beef and was served hot. By the time I was eating it, I realized that I didn’t want any crust and that I should have ordered Shepherd’s Pie instead.
Black Forrest Frappe {P145/$.30}
My drink made up for the pie and I finished that big glass of it.
Blueberry Cheesecake {P145/$3.30}
Their cheesecake is so delicious. It is worth going to Bag of beans just for the cheesecake.
Coffee Choco Banana Frost {145/$3.30}
I think this is more chocolatey than coffee. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking for a coffee drink.
Beef Tapa {P210/$4.80}
Longanisa {P185/$4.25}
Their filipino breakfast came with garlic rice and two eggs.
Spaghetti with Meat Sauce {P275/$6.30}
I think that this is a little pricey because it has more sauce than pasta and very meaty too.
Mr Beans Cheeseburger & Fries {P275/$6.30}
They have big servings of meals here and is screaming home-cooked. They won’t let you go home without a full tummy!
Cappuccino {P105/$2.40}
Before leaving, we decided to drop by their bakeshop which sells different kinds of bread, cookies and even coffee! They also sell frozen versions of their pies you can take home and bake yourself.
I bought a pack of Oatmeal Raisin Cookie {P100}. Loved it♥!
Some people think that Bag of Beans is overrated. Maybe, but if you like home cooked meals as it is, give it a try. I’d say the coffee, cheesecake and the cookies are worth going back for.
