Apple Pie Oatmeal
- ½ cup steel-cut oats
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cups water
- 1 apple, peeled and diced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- a pinch of cinnamon
- If you’re feeling a little fancy, you can caramelize the diced apple in butter and brown sugar before mixing it with the cooked oatmeal.
- Or if not, combine milk, water, apple and oats in a small pot.
- Bring to a boil with constant stirring to prevent it from sticking in the bottom of the pot and burning.
- Simmer for 20-30 minutes, while stirring constantly.
- Add cinnamon and brown sugar. Add a little more sugar if you like it sweeter.
- Serve hot.
