Sisig is a spicy pork dish that has a lot of versions depending on the person who cooks it. It is usually made up of pork cheeks, pork ears and other similar parts that is either deep fried or grilled over live charcoal. It is then chopped and seasoned with soy sauce, chopped shallots, calamondin and sometimes mayonnaise to make it creamy and saucy.
My version of sisig is crispy and a little bit dry because it has no mayonnaise. The above photo is peanutbutter♥‘s {aka the husby} version. I haven’t really tried it because he rarely cooks when he’s home. He leaves all the cooking to me. I think he’s afraid I won’t eat what he’ll make….LOL!
