Basil Lemonade
- 5 cups water
- 4 tbsp sugar
- fresh basil leaves
- lots of ice
- juice of 3 lemons
- For the Basil leaves, you can use as little or as much as you want. It depends on how much of the Basil flavor you’d want your lemonade to have. I used the Basil leaves from my li’l garden
- In a pitcher, combine sugar and Basil leaves, set aside some for garnish.
- With a plastic or a wooden spoon, crush the leaves with sugar until bruised.
- Pour in water and lemon juice. Stir until sugar is dissolved. You can let it stand for a few hours to infuse lemonade with the flavor of Basil or you can serve it immediately.
- Pour through a strainer to strain all bruised leaves.
- Add lots of ice.
- Garnish with the Basil leaves you set aside before serving.
