What we usually do is just put the oysters in a pot of water and heat it in the stove until just before the water reach its boiling point. Then we drain the oysters and dip it in spicy vinegar. But my father bought the thinnest oyters today…heehee. So, to encourage the people in the house to eat ’em I decided to add flavor to these poor oysters.
Ingredients:
oysters, scrubbed clean
garlic, minced
butter
grated cheddar cheese [or a combination of cheeses, if you like]
cayenne powder
salt
♥ You can use as much garlic and butter as you like. There’s really no measurement for these kinds of dishes. Sauté garlic in butter until the butter gets infused with the flavor of garlic then add a little salt. Mix well. You can also just pop them up in the microwave and it will yield the same result.
Put a little of the garlic-butter mixture on top of each oyster then top it off with some grated cheese. The cayenne powder is optional, put it on top of the grated cheese for some extra zing. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese melts and gets a little brown on top.
There’s no limit as to the topping you can put on your baked oysters. You can put cream cheese and parsley or bacon, cheese and worcestershire sauce. It’s up to you. Just remember, they said oysters are aphrodisiacs *wink*.
