Fun Snacking with Maya Fun Cakes

Fun Snacking with Maya Fun Cakes

Be the judge and tell me if it isn’t an understatement that we love pancakes in this house. We make  pancakes for breakfast, merienda, and we dress it up on just about any occasion we can think of like Halloween. Sometimes we even make it for midnight snack. Pancakes is one of the many easy-peasy dishes that Ykaie learned to cook.

Last night was one of those many nights. We just came home from an out of town trip. We were so tired and a bit hungry that we wanted to cook something easy, delicious and fun to make.

I remembered we have the new Maya Pancake & Baking Mix  in the cupboard, something we keep in stock for moments when we needed a pancake fix and a magical time in the kitchen. The new Maya Pancake & Baking Mix we have has a picture of Mickey and Donald Duck. What else is best to make them than Fun Cakes in the shape of Mickey Mouse characters too! We love Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse !

The ingredients we needed were 1 box of the new Maya Pancake & Baking Mix, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoon vegetable oil, and  water.

Ykaie combined all the ingredients in a large bowl and mixed it until it was free of lumps.

Then she helped me cook the Fun Cakes by pouring the batter onto the silicone mold while I do the flipping. We had an M shape, a hidden mickey, and Mickey’s hand.

If you’re not using a silicone mold or a metal cutter, it’s best to just cook the pancake and the cut out the shapes with your plastic cookie cutter.

Tada!! Can you find the hidden Mickey in there? I know it’s there somewhere…heehee.

These Fun Cakes were smothered in butter and drizzled with maple syrup. It was paired with cold milk for Ykaie and decaf coffee for me — in a Minnie Mouse tumbler and a Minnie Mousse mug , of course!
