Hurray to my first day of Juicing!
Just like what I posted earlier this month, part of my goal this year is to introduce juicing to our diet. I’ve been hearing and reading a lot about the many health benefits that juicing brings into the body.Last year, I’ve actually thought about buying juice from these juice bars that seems to be sprouting all over the metro but when I tried to compute how much it would cost me, I found out that it would be a lot more expensive than buying a juicer and making fresh ones at home.
Thanks to my Breville Juice Fountain Max, I can start a healthier 2014. And that’s what we all want right? To be the best version of ourselves this year.
To make that happen, I’m gonna start with small changes like this one. I’m not gonna lie when I tell you that I want to lose weight too. Of course, who wouldn’t want that but that’s not my only goal with juicing. My goal is to get as much vitamins and minerals into my system and to detox.
Yes, I made Ykaie drink ¼ cup of this juice with her lunch and she hated the ginger-y aftertaste. I told her she will thank me later for this.
For me though, I am challenging myself to do a 3-day Juice Fast. According to what I’ve read, drinking freshly squeezed fruit and veggie juices will detoxify your body, give your skin a glow and boost your immune system. It also “resets” your digestive system by giving it a rest from digesting all those food.
My first juice is this Apple, Carrot, Orange and Ginger Juice which I think is more like a beginner’s juice because it has two kinds of fruits and a sweet-tasting vegetable plus ginger. I had no problem with ginger because I love its spicy, tingly taste. It tastes really refreshing and delicious that I would recommend it to anyone.
I had Spicy Lemonade drink after this.
By lunch, my stomach is grumbling and it felt like it’s waiting for something it could digest. I had this vegetable Sticks with Blue Cheese Dip I took home from Starbucks last night.. and it felt enough. The grumbling was gone.
Good news to me, I didn’t have any hunger pangs all through-out the day except for that stomach-grumbling. I hope I can last up to three days.. Ooops, slash that! I will finish this 3-day juice fast in flying colors.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not planning to do this for a long period of time. Maybe just incorporate it in our daily lives after and then do a 3-day juice fast once a month. That should be healthy enough, right?
Have you tried juicing? Do you have any tips? Please don’t hesitate to share in the comments section of this post.
I will try something green tomorrow…

It is! Thanks for dropping by.
I’ve tried homemade juice, smoothies and fruit-infused detox water but I’m not consistent. With your post, I am inspired to do the 3-day Juice Fast. 🙂
Let’s do this, Wena!
Happy New Year Girlfriend!!
Hope you are doing well. I am on a detox and this one is a great combo. I love ginger in my juices, am gonna try this tomorrow.
Happy New Year, Asha! Cheers to our detox days!
I always spent my half an hour to read this blog’s articles all the time along with a cup
of coffee.
Thanks Britt!
I like each ingredient, especially the apples, but I don’t think mixing them together would please my taste. Haha. But still wanna give it a try 🙂
Hoooray for the first day even if Late reaction na ako. Anyway, congratulations too that you like Ginger. I really can’t seem to like it. I’ll take celery anytime over ginger!
hahaha.. I wasn’t able to last for 3 day with only juice!
today is my first day of (supposed to be) 3-day juice cleanse. I was tempted to pair my sugar beets + watermelon juice with Lumpiang Sariwa. I should have done it on weekdays so that less activities, less hunger pangs (I thinks) while at home.
Hay, I don’t think I can do juice fasts din. I incorporate na lang sya with meals and I make sure I have one salad meal a day. 🙁 Kaya natin to, Wena!
I definitely will try this one out! <3
Very healthy too!
It is very healthy and delicious as well.
We are fed with healthy meals all-year round. Not that I’m complaining; in fact, I consider myself blessed. My dentist gave me a juicer for Christmas gift and I will use it to create juices like this.
I hope you share some juice recipes as well.
