Popcorn has been an obsession these past couple of weeks….
I’ve been munching on Chicago Popcorn Shops’ Caramel and Cheese and Chocolate Almond Crisps…like, every minute.
And when I ran out of store-bought popcorn, what I do is I pop a bag of Crispy White popcorns in the microwave…..
Then drizzle it with truffle oil.
That’s what I’ve been up to mostly… for a few weekends now — I’ve been drizzling truffle oil in my popcorn.
It was heaven… kind of like sending my tastebuds on their spa day.
Today, bits of bacon found their way into my popcorn…
It’s a well deserved treat, after all, since the last couple of days this week has been a struggle. We’ve been dealing with sneezing, coughing, fevers, and sleepless nights at home. I guess this is brought about by the fickle-minded weather we’re having. The sun shining brightly in the morning followed by a rainy afternoon or the other way around.
And we are not yet done, even though I’ve already drank cups of Hot Calamansi with Honey in my body weight. I hope we all get better next week. Exercise has been on hold because I don’t feel well and I feel very sluggish.
PrintTruffle Bacon Popcorn
Ingredients
- 8 cups popped popcorn
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 ½ tsp truffle oil
Instructions
- Pour popcorn into a large bowl and set aside.
- Fry bacon in a non-stick skillet until crispy, then crumble or slice into small pieces and add to popcorn.
- Drizzle truffle oil all over the popcorn and give it a quick mix.
- Serve immediately.

I never thought about truffle oil, I usually like the simple buttery flavor of popcorn especially when they are out of the microwave, they smell so freakin great!

That’s an interesting combo sis. I kind of imagine the marrying of the flavours of truffle and bacon and add the mild sweetness of popcorn. Must be heaven for your taste buds 🙂 Hope you feel better soon!

Oh yum! Popcorn drizzled with truffle oil. Now that sounds wonderful! I just happen to have a bottle of truffle oil that I haven’t used much. What a great idea! Oh – the bacon – well, what isn’t better with bacon? 🙂

We usuallly eat homecooked popcorn.. simply adding cheese powder to flavor or we just like it by sprinkling some salt.
I will try this trufle bacon popcorn next time!
